Fasting is a spiritual concept that is much misunderstood. Fasting is about denying the desires of the flesh so that one HAS to focus upon the spiritual. Fasting is deeply personal, and is between you and your Elohim (G-D). If you're fasting for some kind of "gain", you're probably doing it for the wrong reasons. Same goes for "advertising" your fast.

What We Believe
We believe that the Bible (Torah, Nevi'im, Ketuvim, Brit Chadasha), as written, is the completed scripture to date.
We believe that ALL scripture is profitable for Doctrine, Reproof, and Instruction in Righteousness (2 Tim 3:16-17 )
We Believe that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah (Christ), and fully paid the penalty for all sin
We Believe that salvation is by grace through FAITH. We further believe that FAITH was, is and will be the only means to obtain eternal life (salvation)
We also Believe that FAITH without works, is dead
What makes one a Messianic? Our definition is going to be quite loose to make it more inclusive. Any combination of the following makes one Messianic.
Recognition that Torah is still applicable, and that Messiah Yeshua didn't come to destroy(nullify, annul) Torah, but to bring fullness of meaning to it.
Keeping of the Biblical Feasts
Keeping of Shabbat (sabbath)
Keeping Kosher
Yeshua, Salvation and Commandments
I was filling out a questionare about preaching the Gospel to Jews and I got the following series of questions, in an email, regarding my answers. I thought many would be interested in my response. I've changed the format of the questions a bit to fit better here on my site. Here are the questions:
Do you believe Jesus to be the promised Messiah?
You believe in Salvation, don't you?
Do you believe keeping the OT customs are required for Salvation?
You are more observant of Torah practices than I am, do you believe that I am unsaved because I'm not as observant as you?
And I know you are using different terminology but I wanted to understand everything. So for the sake of argument, let's just put terminology aside for the moment.
UPDATE: We are publishing our updated Sabbath Service. We are currently looking for suggestions of things for the Erev Shabbat Service that you'd like to see included in this service. Please let us know ASAP so that we can include your suggestions to the service.
