We are coming up to Passover here this coming week, and I wanted to share some thoughts I've gathered over the years about Passover. This article is going to be quite scattered as I haven't really had the time to organize it at this point. Most people are aware of the New Covenant spoken of by Yeshua and Paul in scripture, and even a few people know where to find the New Covenant in the writings of the prophets. However, I've become increasingly convineced that the "New Covenant" hasn't been made complete. Within the passage of Jeremiah where the phrase New Covenant first appears, it gives hints to things that need to take place before the New Covenant can be completed. Here's the passage in question.
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day [that] I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jer 31:33 But this [shall be] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. I'm going to break down this passage by verse. In verse 31, it gives the prophecy of Messiah's covenant, made that fateful evening nearly 2000 years ago. You can find this recounted in Matthew 26 , Mark 14 and Luke 22 . Paul also recounts this in 1 Corinthians 11 . Mat 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Everyone sitting around that table, that night, would have immediately recognized that phrase as being from the passage from Jeremiah. Many in the church can also point to it, and rightly so, as being prophetic of Messiah. That is the first covenant mentioned in this passage. The second verse, tells that this New Covenant is not going to be like the one given to Israel, that Passover day 3500 years ago. That was the covenant that broke the bonds of the Egyptian taskmasters, and gave them the promise of entering into the promise land.
This brings us to the final verse we are looking at. This covenant is given to Israel alone. When we compare this scripture to other scriptures, such of Ezekiel 37 , which speaks of the last days reuniting of the two kingdoms, Judah and Israel, back into the united kingdom .... Israel. Mar 3:24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. We also know that verse 33 speaks of a yet future covenant because Yeshua hinted at it at that last Passover. Mat 26:29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom. We can also see this in other places within scripture, Amo 9:14 And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit [them]; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. 15 And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God. There is a hidden theme within the stories of the Passover. I've hinted at it here. This hidden theme is that Passover isn't complete until the it is 1) in the land and 2) all Israel keeps it with their Elohim and Savior. Even Paul understood this. 1Cr 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. We are to keep the Passover until he comes because it is a foreshadow of the last Passover we will celebrate, in the land, with all Israel, because it is a reminder of the death we cannot avoid, and the life eternal which we are promised.

| Yeshua's Instructions to His Disciples : Are you a Disciple of Yeshua or are you someone else's Disciple? Of all the books of the NT, Matthew must give Christians fits. I have long recognized this but only recently started to put together why so many of them have "excused" Matthew as NOT applying to them, because "it is written for the Jews" (or... |
