I  have spent the last couple weeks preparing the Olive Tree Messianic Fellowship Passover Haggedah. During that time, I've become even more intimate with the whole service, and the meaning of it. Each year that I've attended or hosted a Passover Seder, the profundity and solemnity of the service strikes me anew. And this year it will be no different.

Each year, I search for additional meaning, correction and even deeper faith, from the Passover Service and each year I've been given new insights and I'm honored that YHVH would share HIS Ruach that way with me. Last year, I spoke on the nature of the Unleavened Bread, this year, I will be focusing on the story of Passover, the Exodus from Slavery to Freedom.

It is important to know that the story of the Exodus has all the parts of our faith walk outlined. If you recount the story, the children of Israel were enslaved by the tyrant pharroah. What is often loss in the story is that as the task-masking was increased, so was the strength of the children of Jacob, and that caused them to multiply greatly. The last generation in Egypt was very large and growing rapidly.

Pharaoh saw that the children of Israel grew in number, that it would present problems with the Egyptians natives. The children of Israel also knew of the Elohim of their fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. And while it isn't explicitly stated in the story, the implications to Pharaoh and the Egyptians was that the Israelites worship was starting to impact Egyptian Society.

The same is true even to this day. As believers in YHVH speak out, society today lashes back at the one true GOD, and HIS people. In Pharaoh's time, they turned around and started the slaughter of the people of YHVH. In that case it was the male children that were to be killed. In today's society, as recently as 60 or so years ago, the wholesale slaughter of the children of Judah took place. It is happening now in places like Africa, China, and will happen again perhaps even in America and Europe.

But as persecution rises, so does the voice of those crying out to YHVH rises to HIS throne in the Heavenlies. And YHVH hears His people, and remembers HIS promises. The question is, do you know what YHVH has promised us? YHVH's promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were expressed in absolute terms clearly and distinctly. Today, many preachers and teachers are teaching about promises of god(sic) that are not found anywhere in scripture. The Elohim of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob doesn't make hidden promises, HE states them boldly and clearly so that there is NO MISTAKE, when they come to pass.

The promises of YHVH were that the children of Jacob would inherit the land promised to Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. But here they were, strangers in a strange land, subject to evil leadership and slavery to the ruling elite (sounding familar?), crying out under the burdens they held. It was from this place that YHVH remembered HIS promises, and started the process of drawing out HIS people, as one nation.

This is the part where the walk of faith we each have, starts. (Part Two)
