A Glimpse Of Yeshua,

Hidden Within The Text

Behaalotecha:

Preface:

A history lesson, and the price of oil: Before we get into this week’s torah portion. In light of oil prices closing, at a record $138 a barrel, last Friday. I want to briefly touch on the tangible and spiritual reasons, why? .

The tangible reason why, the oil price rose eleven dollars, to record $138 a barrel, last Friday. Was Israel’s Deputy Prime Minister Shaul Mofaz stated, "if Iran continues its program to develop nuclear weapons, we will attack," no questions ask?

What prompted Mofaz to make his statement. Iranian President Ahmadinejad stated, "the time for the fall of the satanic power of the United States has come and the countdown to the annihilation of the emperor of power and wealth has started." He also insisted that "I must announce that the Zionist regime (Israel), with a 60-year record of genocide, plunder, invasion and betrayal is about to die and will soon be erased from the geographical scene."

This statement created a panic, among the future traders, in the futures market, causing oil to close at a record $138 a barrel. Though, according to Wall Street oil will skyrocket to $150 a barrel, by the fourth of July.

With that said, in the late 50's, at the height of the cold war. Nikita Khrushchev in a rage pulled off one of his shoes. Then slammed it on the table in front of him and stated, "the Soviet Union will defeat the United States, without firing a shot." So, far history has proven, Khrushchev wrong.

On this note Ahmadinejad knows, it is impossible for Iran to defeat the United States, on the battlefield. Hence it appears as though, Ahmadinejad has adopted, Khrushchev’s master plan of destroying the United States, without firing a shot. Only unlike Khrushchev, Iran’s controls just enough oil, to make Khrushchev’s plain work.

Plus, Ahmadinejad has a partner that Khrushchev didn’t have, in the United States’ Congress. How so, you ask?

Before I answer this question, prior to WWII, the United States sold, Japan scape metal. Only to be paid back, whenever a Japanese bullet found it’s target, miming and killing U.S. solders. Yes, the Japanese made bullets, from the scape metal that we sold them.

Returning the question, how is Congress allied with Ahmadinejad ? Well, Congress has banned, domestic drilling. Forcing the oil companies to buy oil, from our very enemies. Totally insane, isn’t it?

This what’s make the fact that we sold, scape metal to Japan relevant. Because there’s an old saying which states, "those who do not learn from their past mistakes, are destine to make the same mistakes, all over again." Now for the spiritual reason why, oil closed at a record of $138 dollars a barrel, last Friday.

President Bush played, guest host to Israeli Prime Minster Ehud Olmert, last week. The key issue discussed, was the creation of a Palestinian state. That said, Israeli State officials in Jerusalem confirmed on Saturday that Israel has begun the process of drafting a peace agreement with the Palestinian Authority. However, the officials stressed, the negotiations are far from a stage where a final accord can be drawn up.

So on the very same day that oil prices closed at a record $138 a barrel. Olmert, with President Bush’s blessings, begun drafting a peace agreement with the Palestinian.

That said, G-d’s word states, "I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." Gen 12:3

Can you discern the thematically connection here? Olmert with President Bush’s blessings, started, drafting a peace agreement with the Palestinians. On the very same day that, oil skyrocketed to $ 138 a barrel. Just happen chance, you say. Well, I beg to differ!

There is a unique curious passage, within this week’s torah portion "Behaalotecha" that I want to open up with. The curious passage is the following.

So it was, whenever the ark set out, that Moses said: "Rise up, O LORD! Let Your enemies be scattered, And let those who hate You flee before You." And when it rested, he said: "Return, O LORD, To the many thousands of Israel." Num 10:35-36

The Hebrew text has no punctuation marks, the text just continues to flow letter after letter, line after line. There are no chapters or verses, the texts just continues to flow. However, Moses was inspired by G-d, to placed some anomalies, within the text itself, for example.

What’s makes {Num 10:35 - 36 } so unique, is that within the Hebrew text, there are two inverted "nuns," {N } which are equivalent to our letter "N." That said, if you are reading along and came upon an inverted "n," you wouldn’t miss it. Likewise it is the same thing hold true, with the inverted "nun." It’s impossible to miss. Thus, the question is why, did the Lord inspire Moses to place two inverted "nuns," within this passage?

According the sages, these two verses were set apart by the Lord, to indicate that this passage, has a separate and a complete message, all in itself. If this is true, then the book of Numbers, would actually consist of three books, which foreshadows "the Father, the Son, and the holy spirit." They are,

1} Numbers 1:10 - 34

2} Numbers 10: 35 - 36

3} Numbers 11:1 - 36:13

This would make a total of "seven" books within the torah, instead of five. Interesting isn’t it, because the number seven, represents "completeness." Implying the total sum of the bible, is found in the torah.

How did the sages come to this conclusion? The sages based their conclusions on the following verse, which states, "wisdom has built her house, She has hewn out her seven pillars." Prov 9:1

If the torah contain seven books, then it contains, ultimate wisdom. Hence the seven books, are represented by "seven pillars," which typify ultimate wisdom. As fascinating as the sages’ interpretation of {Num 10:35 -36 } is. The following interpretation, is even more astounding.

Each letter of the Hebrew alphabet, has a meaning, for example. The Hebrew letter "nun," {n} represents "life." Though remember the "nuns" that are located in {Num 10:35 - 36 } are inverted, or backwards. What is Moses, or G-d’s word, trying to convey here?

I know that I ask, the following each week but each week, but it’s irrelevant. Remember Yeshua how said, "if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me?"{John 5:46 } And you will soon discern, how?

"Arise ‘O’ Lord! ......" The first inverted "nun," is a picture of "life from death." Hence the first "inverted nun," is a picture of the Messiah’s, resurrection from death.

While the second inverted "nun," is a picture of us. When the Messiah return, to gather us home. Because the Hebrew text reads, "return ‘O’ Lord {Adonai} to your myriads, or the many thousands of Israel." Now there weren’t more than 600,000 men in the camp.

Yet, this verse is alluding the myriads of Israel. Thus, this is a prophecy of Yeshua, returning with His saints. In other words, the second "inverted nun," is Yeshua, who has risen from the grave, and will return as "Lord of lords, King of kings, along with His saints!" Rev 12:11 - 14

These " inverted nuns," are referred to as tittles. I mention this fact, because Yeshua said, "do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

              For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled." { Matt 5:17-18 }

Yet, in spite of Yeshua’s statement, we are told the line that the law is done away with! There is munch more that I could say, on these two verses though, I will move on.

Specking of foolishly saying, "the law is done away with." The custom of releasing a prisoner on Passover, went as far back as the Maccabees, and it underscored the meaning of Passover. In turn the Roman Empire, in an act of public relations, released a prisoner on Passover. {Luke 23:17 } In doing so, Pilate presented Barabbas along with Yeshua to the crowd, in order for the crowd to choose, which one would be set free. Thus Palate asked, "whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Yeshua who is called the Messiah?" Matt 27:17

A flash back: Remember how Pharaoh’s dream, disturbed him to no end? Now fast forward to Palate, presenting Yeshua and Barabbas to the crowd. While this is taking place, Palate’s wife sent him the following note,"have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him." Matt 27:19

Can you discern how Pharaoh’s dream, is thematically related to Pilate’s wife dream? In that Pharaoh wisely heeded, Joseph’s interpretation of his dream, resulting in Pharaoh and Egypt, being saved. However Pilate ignored his wife’s advice in asking, "what then shall I do with Yeshua who is called Messiah?" {Matt 27:22 } More on this later.

Though, what led me to recall this event, was because what the crowd, then cried out. Remember they cried out, "away with Him," and release to us Barabbas," who was a murderer. Luke 23:18

On this note, Moses wrote the torah, which are the first five books, of the bible. This is meaningful because Yeshua said, "if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me?" Where am I going with this?

Well, Moses in writing the torah, wrote the law. This is significant, because according to Yeshua’s statement, He is found in the law, because Moses wrote of Him. Yet we have a crowd of people today who is hollowing, "away with Him." By foolishly stating, "the law is done away with." Because once you do away with the law. Then you have done away with Yeshua, because Yeshua is found in the law.

A footnote: Remember how Pharaoh, wisely heeded Joseph’s interpretation of his dreams, and how he was saved, as a result. Though, unlike Pharaoh, Pilate failed to heed his wife’s dreams. Consequently history states, Pilate became insane, and jumped off of the Alps, into the abyss below. What can we gleam of this? Well, no man can wash their hands of Yeshua’s blood!

Back to { Num 10: 35 - 36,} the sages felt the messages contain in this passage, are so powerful that { Num 10: 35 - 36,} deserved a book within itself, for example. Read {Num 10: 35b,} what is taking place in this passage? It’s "the ark is going forth."

That said, remember the Lord dwelt between the Cherubims that were located on the ark. So the lifting of the ark, is a picture the Lord lifting Himself up, to go before Israel. Note the following passage that states, the Lord goes before Israel. {Ex 23:20, Ex 23:23,27-30} Most of these verses state that the reason why, the Lord went before Israel, was to destroy their enemies. Note too this is what Moses, prayed in {Num 10: 35b.} So, the main theme being discuss here, is warfare.

On this note, remember how the Lord often used Sampson, as an instrument of war, against Israel’s enemy, the Philistines. Thematically then Sampson, was utilized as an instrument of war, in defending Israel.

That said in {Gen 22:17 ,} the Lord promised that Abraham’s seed would posses the gate of it’s enemies. When did this first take place?

Samson lay low till midnight; then he arose at midnight, took hold of the doors of the gate of the city and the two gateposts, pulled them up, bar and all, put them on his shoulders, and carried them to the top of the hill that faces Hebron. Judges 16:3

Remember when Sampson "arose" at midnight, and took hold of the door of a Philistine’s city’s gate and pulled it up. Then he placed the bar of the gate, upon his broad shoulders, and carried, it off, bar and all. What made this feat, so amazing. Was the gate weighed close to forty tons, and was some forty odd feet high. Though, Sampson carried it off, as if it was a matchstick! What can we gleam, from this?

Remember how I stated, last week that the story of Sampson, is littered with references to Yeshua, for example. Note how Sampson, who is a figure of Yeshua, "arose." Making {Judges 16:3 ,} thematically connected to Yeshua’s resurrection. Though, there’s more, munch more.

When the apostle John witnessed, Yeshua in a dream, on the isle of Patmas. He witnessed, within Yeshua’s possession a set of keys, which were to Hell and death. {Rev 1:12 - 18 } That said, the Greek word for keys is "kleis," denotes "power and authority, over whatever the keys are to." And we know, Yeshua has the authority over Hell and death. Having said that though, when did Yeshua gained, ownership of these keys?

Well, the Yeshua gained dominion over these keys, when He descended into "she’ol," or hell following His death on the Cross. Where He openly trumped, over Satan and his’ demonic forces. Making it possible then, for Yeshua to openly trumped over death, Hell and the grave. Hence as we all know, Yeshua "arose" on the third day. Prompting Paul to boldly ask, "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" {1 Cor. 15: 55 } So, Yeshua’s victory over death, hell and the grave, is all pictured in {Judges 16:3 .} When Sampson possessed, the gate of Israel’s enemy. But wait, there’s more!

Once Sampson had pulled the massive gate up, bar and all. He then placed the bar across his shoulders, then proceeded to carry it off. What is this a picture of? Isn’t this a picture of Yeshua, carrying the Cross? {John 19:17 } However here’s a thought to ponder.

Remember how Sampson, placed the bar of the massive gate, across his shoulders. Then amazingly carried, it away with ease. Now compare Sampson to Yeshua, who unlike Sampson, had been scourged and beaten, in fulfillment of {Isa 53 .} Prior to having the Cross, placed on His shoulders. Thus, a bystander by the name of Simon, was chosen out of the crowd, to carry Yeshua’s Cross. {Matt 27:32 } When Yeshua could not bear up, under the load any longer. Hence, I’m remindful, that "many are called though, few like Simon are chosen."

Back to our text, had the children not rebelled, the conquest of the Promise Land, would have been a cakewalk. Because the Lord would have went before them, to fight their battles, as represented by the ark. In stead {Num 11 } begins to name the reasons why, an entire generation, became doomed, for example.

The Lord became displeased, because the people complained. {Num 11:1 } That said, "sin beget sin." Thus, the people, then begun to lust, after meat. {Num 11:4 } Though I’m getting ahead of myself.

The real issue here, is that people complained for no particular reason, because {Num 11:21 } states, the people rejected the Lord. In turn the Lord’s anger "arose." There is that word "arose"again. Anyway the Lord’s anger "arose," resulting in a consuming fire, consuming individuals, who were on the outskirts of the camp. Num 11:1

According to the sages, "the mixed multitude" that lift Egypt, with the children of Israel. Primarily were made up of Egyptians, who dwelt on the outskirts of the camp. This is significant, because these Egyptians, brought their old baggage with them, for example.

They were reared in a society, where pagan gods were numerous. No doubt, they longed for Egypt, and their pagan gods. Hence the Lord knew, they had rejected Him, in favor of their pagan gods. Therefore the Lord consumed them. So just as the flames of "she’ol" {hell} will consume the wicked.{Matt 25:41 } A consuming flame came forth, and devoured them. What can we gleam from this?

Well often lay people and even preachers, concern themselves more on what their Church’s doctrine says. Or what their parents or grandparents believed in, than what says, the Lord? In doing so, they are identical to a segment of "the mixed multitude," who brought their old baggage with them, which resulting in their death. In short "you can’t mixed, evil which is man’s ways, with good, which is the Lord’s way and live, and live" Though, there is a large segment of our society today, who is doing just that!

Remember how "sin begets sin." Well, the entire camp, yielded to "the mixed multitude" craving for meat. By saying, "we remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic; but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!" Num 11:5-6

Remember how Pharaoh had issued a degree, that straw would no longer be given the children of Israel, to make bricks with. Yet Pharaoh still expected them, to make the same quota of bricks. {Ex 5:18} Now if the bricks, weren’t freely given. What make you think, that fish and the like, were given to them? Did the Egyptians, run a welfare program? No, I don’t think so! Hence, what does the word "freely," entails then?

In Egypt, they consumed all of this produce, "freely" with no strings etched. Meaning unlike in the wilderness, they were not expected, to heed the Lord’s commandments. So, the driving issue in rejecting the Lord, was they simply didn’t want to heed, the Lord’s commandments. This rebellion started with Adam and Eve in the garden, and is still alive and well today. It’s battle cry, is "the law is done away with!"

The Lord had been faithful each mourning except for the Sabbath, to rain manna from heaven, it fell as the mourning dew does. {Lev 11:7 ,9} Yet, they complained, the manna wasn’t enough. That said, Yeshua equated Himself with the manna, that fell from heaven. {John 6:33 } So, in complaining that the manna, wasn’t enough. {Num 11:6 } A case could be made, they were rejecting the Messiah..

With that said Yeshua said, "if you love me, keep my commandments." {John 14:15 } I pointed this fact out, because in rebelling against the Lord’s commandments, they were rebelling against Yeshua. Because the two, go hand in hand.

Thus, when Moses heard, the people weeping in their tents, he was displeased. As for the Lord’s, His’ anger was greatly "arose." {Lev 11:12 } There’s that word again, the word "arose," it serves as a neon sign, pointing the readers to Yeshua.

Doesn’t this seem out of character for Moses? Up until this point, he had defended the people, to the hilt. Remember how he requested, his name be blotted out of the book, in exchange, for forgiveness of the people’s sins, over worshiping the golden calf. Ex 32:32

Do you discern, how everything spiral downward, after the people rejected the Lord. It appears after {Num 10:35 - 36 ,} which is a revelation of Yeshua, the spiral downward begins, for example?

You have a group of people, who were consumed by fire. {Lev 11:1 } Then you have an entire generation of people, who were ultimately be condemned, to wonder around in the wilderness, until they had all died. All because they had foolishly, rejected the Lord. Do you discern the message that is being stressed here? It’s "those who reject the Lord, will be cast into outer darkness." Matt 8:12

Returning to the text, when Moses heard the people weeping in their tents, his displeasure with them, led him to ask the Lord, "why have You afflicted Your servant? And why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You have laid the burden of all these people on me?" {Num 11:11 } In closing what can we gleam from this verse?

In reading of events in the scripture, often there are a hidden meaning, more significant than the events themselves. The sages alluded to this hidden meaning, as being "the sod level."

          That said, remember how Yeshua said, "if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me?" {John 5:46 } In light of this, can you think of a prophesy of Yeshua that is thematically related to the following phrase, "why have you affected your servant," which is found in {Lev 11:12 ?}

         Well, the following Hebrew word for affected "anah," means "to browbeat, or to deal harshly with." That said, remember how the prophet Isaiah prophesied of Yeshua by saying, "surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed." { Isa 53:4-5 }

So, similar to Yeshua, Moses was browbeaten, or afflicted. Making {Lev 11:12 } thematically related to "the suffering Servant" in {Is 53.} Though there’s more!

Because Moses went on to ask, "why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You have laid the burden of all these people on me?"

Moses mourned, why have You {Lord} laid the burden, of all these people on me? Can you think of a statement that Yeshua made on the Cross, that is thematically related to Moses’ question here?

         Remember at the ninth hour Yeshua cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which is translated, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"  {Mark 15:34 }

What prompted Yeshua to asked, this question. Well, remember the Lord had laid the burden of the sins of the world, on Him. So, having the burden of the sins of the world, cast on Him. Yeshua cried out, "my God, my God, why have You forsaken Me?"

That said, having the sins of the world cast on Him. Made Yeshua "tamei," or unclean. In turn a holy G-d had no chose, but to forsake, His Son. Because the Lord can’t look, upon sin. Making Moses’ question, thematically related to Yeshua.

As several you know, today is "Shavout," which is the day the Holy Spirit, came down to dwell, with men in {Acts 2 .} What several you may not know, today was also the day, that the Lord announced the Ten Commandments, in a booming voice at Mount Sinai. I intended to compare these two events in order to show, how they are similar. Though, time got away from me, maybe next year. G-d willing.

May the LORD bless you and keep you. May the LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you. May the LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace."

Num 6:22- 26
